"Enter The Dragon"-Blu-Ray Edition 5 out of 5 stars.

The image and sound quality was, and is, by far, superior to any previous version on video, broadcast, cable, satellite.Extras and bonus features include documentaries,trailers,T.V.spots,and more. This is Martial Arts Legend/Icon Bruce Lee's final, last, completed, major film, and his best. It's the film by which all other martial arts films are measured. This version of the movie[102 minutes],includes 2 scenes missing from the previous 99 minute home video release version.I only wish for,and dream, that it could be the original, never released,2 hours,or longer, version seen only by Warner Brothers Studios executives. If you love martial arts action adventure,I highly recommend this film classic!

Might want to pass if you have a decent sized TV 1 out of 5 stars.

Yes, Yes .. we all know this is a great movie... but here is the kicker, the DVD version I have is better quality (after being upstepped) than this Blu-ray version. And I am not complaining about the fact that they did not have a super clean version of it before they transfered it to Blu-ray. They definately could have spent some time remastering this amazing movie, but they didn't.... fine, we get a lot of this on Blu-ray. But what I have never gotten, are digital blocks that can be seen quite often through the movie. It looks like it needs to be anti-aliased, I have never seen anything like it. Granted I am viewing it on a 61 inch 1080p DLP.. but I have never seen any of the other 80 Blu's that I have look like this. It almost looks like it is a MPG. I even tried to exchange it, for another but I had the video manager open it up and test it before I walked out the door with it and it had the same small digital block quality issue. The Studios need to take a little more time and effort to properly prepare the films for Blu-ray. This is unacceptable.

Recruited by an intelligence agency, outstanding martial arts student Bruce Lee participates in a brutal karate tournament hosted by the evil Han. Along with champions Roper and Williams, he uncovers Han's white slavery and drug trafficking ring located on a secret island fortress. In the exciting climax, hundreds of freed prisoners fight in an epic battle with Lee and Han locked in a deadly duel.

I wanted to like this but in the behind the scenes interviews they show little respect for Bruce Lee and that got me started off on the wrong foot. Then I watch it and it just isn't that clever. I did laugh once or twice but i expected something more along the lines of What's Up Tiger Lilly. At least they could have had the actors play orientals. Too bad because this concept could have been funny.

Bruce shines in this, his best the lot 5 out of 5 stars.

I love this movie and still think its Lee at his best. Between the scene of him as a very awkward phone repairman, and the scene where he takes on a horde of bad guys with Nunchucks, this is his most complete performance on screen to me and showed his talent at its best. This transfer is of a much better quality than most of the releases out there of this movie. If you ever wanted to see just how good and talented Bruce was, just watch this one and find out.
The story is standard for these movies but Lee bumps the action and the acting up to give this one it's true classic reputation.

A Great Compilation of Bruce Lee's Rarely Seen Footage ! 5 out of 5 stars.
43 of 47 people found this review helpful.

A nice mix of home movie footage, movie clips, audio commentary by Bruce and Brandon Lee and interview footage from Dan Inosanto are all brought together in a wonderfully edited piece that is truly motivated to shed light on Jeet Kune Do. Just watching and listening to the footage of Bruce and James Coburn training (which incidentally is much longer and less cut than other documentaries showing only portions of this footage) is a great enlightenment into the way that Bruce Lee taught his art. One of the few, if not the only, documentaries on Bruce Lee that leaves you in awe of what he really was about. I really should not call it a documentary because it takes the available footage and makes it into a teaching/training DVD for JKD. Also Dan Inosanto lends a lot of personal insight in a pleasingly lengthy interview at the end.

The instruction, though not vast and complex, reflects the foundation of what Bruce was working with. Much of what is valuable pertains to a person's initiative more so than to obtaining techniques. Many tend to overlook the value of simple things and focus on acquiring an arsenal of techniques to tap into. Bruce was so very focused on the simplicity and directness of being and acting within the living moment, that he encapsulated what most others tend to disregard in their search for complexity. Many people approach an art looking for something new to learn and understand as opposed to trying to do what one already knows and understands very well. Acquiring new techniques is one thing. Applying yourself to make your actions useful and effective is another. The impact of simple ideas and common knowledge may be of little use to one person, and hold great depth for another. Bruce could see the value and become dynamically involved in the simplicity that others would fail to give credence to.

It should be noted that the techniques and drills that Bruce used to practice were meant to act as a foundation for providing a structure to grow from. Not as an end all group of movements to embrace.

The visual quality of the footage is by no means great when, after all, you are watching his home movies and listening to old audio recordings. However, the content is unprecedented when it comes to explaining Jeet Kune Do and getting a real sense of Bruce Lee the man. There is indeed enough here to provide a foundation that you can take and run with if you want to pursue training yourself the way Bruce did.

Don't miss this one!

Editorial Review:

In this fascinating, heartfelt documentary narrated by Bruce Lee himself and with additional commentary by son Brandon Lee and student Dan Inosanto, the martial arts of Jeet Kune Do is presented in its purest, most direct form. See and hear Lee personally explains and demonstrates his punching and kicking techniques and combat philosophies. Bruce Lee's research notes, drawings, home movies, private recordings and audio recordings are also featured in this one of a kind film.

Editorial Review:

Bruce Lee died after shooting only a few scenes of his ambitious Game of Death, but that didn't stop greedy producers from finishing and releasing "Lee's last film," even if he's doubled for most of it. Lee planned an ambitious expression of his fighting philosophy, and his story culminates in the rigorous challenge of the "Game of Death," in which combatants take on successively greater and greater masters as they fight their way to the top of a tower. Only a few fight scenes were completed, and the released film is about a martial arts movie star who takes on a syndicate of drug dealers. Lee faces down the towering Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in an impressive battle, one of the only surviving scenes from Lee's original shoot, while outtakes from his battle with Chuck Norris in Return of the Dragon are used along with real-life footage from Lee's funeral. The rest of the film is a mishmash of car chases and clumsily edited fights, complete with awkward inserts of Lee's face. His double remains hidden behind a pair of dark glasses or a motorcycle helmet throughout, and he abruptly changes into a yellow jumpsuit for no reason other than to match Lee's costume in the final scene. --Sean Axmaker

Editorial Review:

Bruce Lee kicked around Hollywood for years looking in vain for an American break when Hong Kong came calling. As Kato in the TV series The Green Hornet he had become an Asian star (the series was renamed for his character when it crossed the Pacific) and ripe for his own vehicle. This raw, low-budget effort, called The Big Boss in its native Hong Kong, is a generic revenge drama enlivened by Lee's intense screen presence and martial arts prowess. He's a country boy who takes a job at a Thailand ice-packing plant and discovers it's a cover for heroin smuggling. Lee is held back through the first half of the film by a promise he made his sweet, gray-haired mom not to brawl (which means you have to wait to see him in action), but his indignation turns to fury as friends and coworkers disappear and the boss sends thugs to take care of the brooding, intense country boy. The final half of the film is a series of violent confrontations, culminating in a marvelously choreographed showdown at the ice plant. Lean, mean Lee, with a physique that looked sculpted in bronze, became an overnight sensation with this film, breaking all Asian box-office records and starting an international kung fu craze, but none of the pretenders ever touched Lee's cool cinematic charisma or his martial arts grace. Lee returned the next year in The Chinese Connection. --Sean Axmaker

Editorial Review:

After the kung fu instructor of Chen (Lee) is brutally murdered, Chen seeks revenge. When he discovers that the killers are a Japanese gang, and that they are terrorizing his former school, Chen brings swift and deadly retribution to the evildoers. Bruce Lee plays a martial arts student who returns to his former school to find that his beloved teacher has been murdered. Set in Shanghai in the 1930s, the Japanese are in control, and it is one of their Bushido schools that is responsible for this outrage. Knowing that the authorities will not attempt to bring justice to the killers, Lee seeks to restore honor to his institute and mentor with fearsome revenge. There is an awkward romantic sub-plot and the script and direction can, at times, be a little crude, but the screen presence of Bruce Lee is undeniably strong. His fluidity in Kung Fu is amazing to watch, and he compresses the rage of a tormented culture into a physical art of retribution that promotes this film into a league of Asian classics. In making this film, Lee tapped into a powerful sentiment that the normally undemonstrative Chinese audiences of the time stood up and applauded. The tag of Sick Man of Asia was used in the 30s by the Japanese Imperialist forces to describe the subjugated Chinese, and in this movie, Lee exacts a visceral vengeance of mesmerizing power.

There is nothing Phony about this movie and no special effects are involved, just pure 100% old fashioned non stop raw action Fighting.Bruce Lee is both tough, loving and charismatic,as he fights the worst knife using street thugs in the criminal world. Fist of fury is my favorite movie!!I Never get tired of watching it!!

Crawling stages, I can respect that. 3 out of 5 stars.

I liked this movie more as a kid than I do now. Back then I was blown away by the fight scenes, they are great. I need more depth now.

Great Bruce Lee, awful DVD 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I would give 5 stars to Bruce Lee, but this DVD is barely watchable and it deserves 0 star.
There are no setting options. All you get is a very badly dubbed laughable dialog. The picture and sound are truly awful.
The movie is also really bad, cheaply made, with cardboard characters and terrible acting. The kung fu scenes are not that well choreographed either. The only good action scenes are those with Bruce Lee, and there are not enough of them. Bruce Lee is way too good for this mess!
I guess I got what I paid for! My favorite is still "Enter the Dragon".
